- High-Performance Materials (light metals, metal-matrix-comosites)
- Hot Structures, Ceramic Matrix Composites including hot joining (ceramic hot bearings, sealing and fastening) by use of superalloys and ceramics, SiC
- Advanced Thermal Technology Solutions, heat transport and heat dissipation/rejection (two-phase heat transport, heat pipes and capillary pumped loops)

Raw materials for production of new and high performance materials. Fabrication is carried out by partner companies.
